Team Water Warrior paddlers not only share a common bond as Service members, but every Veteran who participated was touched by homelessness; either currently living in transitional housing or formally homeless.
“It gives Veterans an ‘out’ and shows them that although it is a bad situation now, there still is hope,” said Pearl Martin, female Army Veteran and now Community Care Homeless Outreach Staff. “Activities like this keep Veterans productive and get them back up!”
This year, the Water Warriors finished 4th out of 8 teams in VIP by invitation only division! Over 150 teams competed for medals and trophies all weekend long!
This banana's for Jason! :)
Hello Team!
Hope everyone's doing well and looking forward to the Long Beach races this weekend! Our 'Bacon & Eggs' crew designations were a fun way to officially start our season back in April, and of course, there was a return to Vancouver last month, but as odd as it sounds-- halfway into Season 16-- this weekend's races will actually mark the debut of our Black and Red crews!
Get rested, especially Thursday night if you're one to get pre-race jitters the evening before that impacts sleepies.
Looking forward to our debut, see y'all soon!
On behalf of the Los Angeles Racing Dragons, I would like to thank you and Kialoa again for offering us a discount on purchasing a hybrid paddle for our Paddle Art Contest. Attached is a photo of this year's winner, David Gao from UCLA wins the Paddle Art Judging contest and will get the Kialoa Paddle, and Simon Li from UCI won the online FB voting competition.
